georgianess
Dear Sydney,

Uh, this probably isn't allowed. BUT YEAH. I'm fifteen and my name is Georgia. I live in New Zealand, but at the end of this year I'll most likely be moving to Sydney- my dad lives there already. Before that, I'll be coming to Sydney every school holidays this year. And I was wondering if any of you super-cool indie kids want to be my friend then. 'Cause being alone in Syndey is not gonna be fun. Or maybe you could just tell me where all the cool kids hang or something. I can personally guarantee you I am awesome and I wear shirts with puffy sleeves and, um, you'll go in the draw to win a free bike. Serious.

Love Georgia.

Oh and pee ess.
Name: Georgia
Age: fifteen
Location: Christchurch, New Zealand *cringe*
Current Favourite Bands: Arrah & The Ferns, The Grates, Headlights, The Blow, Basia Bulat, The Eames Era, Stars, Hello Saferide, The Brunettes, Los Campesinos!, YYYs, France Gall.
Favourite Movies: Tais Toi!, My Neighbour Totoro, any rendition of Alice In Wonderland.
Favourite Place to Hang Out: libraries, thrift & vintage stores, fabric stores, the interweb.
Concerts Attended This Year: a bunch of crappy local ones 'cause no good bands ever come to Christchurch.
Hobbies: sewing, reading, dancing awkwardly.

Okay, bye!

Aloha!

Quite a random question, but, for those who are very familiar with China Town's stores and stalls, where's a good place to buy cheap silk slippers, I saw some girl with hot purple ones at the Strokes concert and she told me she got them for like 2 bucks from China Town, I want some!

Thank you, darlings.

Hey everyone... just in case you were wondering where I sprung up from, I used to be waif_girl but have changed my accounts over. =)
Also, if anyone is interested... it's not really in Sydney or all that indie, but Evermore, Bob Evans and The Hampdens are playing a gig at Penrith Panthers on the 8th of October, tickets are $20 pre-booked.
Hope you're all having a great week.

WHO WAS AT THE YEAH YEAH YEAHS? WHO WAS NEAR THE FRONT? WHO GOT PHOTOS?

Because I was! Man it was... hot haha.
I was about second/third row from the barrier. Meaning there was absolutely NO room to dance, shame shame.
But I didn't get photos because I was stupid & put my bag in the cloakroom without thinking of taking out my camera. Are they posted anywhere that you know of? And the setlist?
I didn't get home until 2am. God I hate Cityrail!

Oh and the place was SWARMING with indie kids, I tellsya. And Karen O look-a-likes.
Nick Zinner is hotter than I thought;; haha.

Hi kids, I need your expert input for my HSC Major Work.

In your opinion:
How important is it for local bands to have a following in Australia?
How important are community radio stations and triple j in uncovering new Australian music?
Are there enough venues and shows catering for kids under 18?
How has 'Reality TV' and instant success impacted on the music industry?

please and thankyou. you dont need to answer all of them, but it would be nice
(:
